Lincoln has a new full-service bakery! Crazy Cakes and Stuff held its Grand Opening on Friday morning, serving free samples and offering discounts on cake orders. The bakery is located at 436 Lincoln Blvd, Suite 206, next to Old Town Pizza. Crazy Cakes and Stuff offers everything from wedding cakes to fresh-baked pastries. All items are made completely from scratch.
Co-owners Sandra Sanders, Laura Ramsay and Jordan James said they decided to open their bakery in Lincoln because no other scratch bakery was located within ten miles.

Ramsay and James both attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Sacramento and worked at several bakeries before meeting Sanders at the Savemart in Yuba City. When the three women made the decision to start their own bakery, they were surprised at how quickly and easily they found available space. Within three weeks, they had signed the lease on the space at the old Jansen Feed building in downtown Lincoln. Sanders said, “Everything just fell right into place.” Ramsay added, “It was easier to lease this building than it was to rent my home.”
James is the baker of the trio. She mixes up the recipes and bakes the items. Ramsay and Sanders complete the decorations. Sanders takes care of the business aspects of their operation. James said, “She was our manager at our other store, so we were used to her being in charge, plus she knows how to manage.”

The room was filled with Lincoln residents and guests who cheered loudly when the owners cut the ceremonial ribbon. Several family members of all ages helped out in the bakery during the festivities. When preparing for the grand opening celebration, the owners baked about 500 mini cupcakes to hand out. By early afternoon, only a handful were left.
Sanders, Ramsay and James said they have enjoyed the friendly and supportive people of Lincoln. Sanders said, “We got a lot of help from the people in this building and around us, coming over and introducing themselves and letting everybody know that we’re here.”
The owners said they are interested in learning what the residents of Lincoln want from a bakery. Ramsay added, “If there’s anything you grew up with as a child, a favorite, let us know and we’ll look up recipes and try it out.”
Crazy Cakes and Stuff will be open 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 6:00 AM to Noon on Sundays. More information can be found on their Facebook page.
